Hardware Specification
Dfend is optimized to runs on a number of industrial-strength embedded platform. Theses platforms offer the reliability and performance required to handle the network activity of today and tomorrow. The combinaison of fanless processors and Compact Flash storage means there are no moving part in the Dfend which makes the entire system very quiet and robust. The choice of hardware platform is usually based on the number of simultaneous users and/or the number of VPN tunnels to be supported. Higher specification are required to allow the use of network services at IP layer 5+ such as intrusion detection, on-the-fly virus scanning, etc ...
Software Specification
Dfend is powered by OpenBSD, the world's most secure Operating System. And uses the PF packet filter to deliver powerful, yet flexible firewalling features. has developed a dedicated webGUI which makes it easy to configure the entire system as well as monitor and analyse network activity through a secure HTTPS connection.

Service Agreement
As part of the purchase price of Dfend, DCoded limited provides a full 3 years of remote maintenance including software upgrades, troubleshooting, log data analysis and report generation.
For rapid deployment, all Dfend systems come pre-configured according to the network topology you described to DCoded limited limited during the order process. You also receive all the phone support you require to complete installation (phone charges apply). Depending on your location, you may also be able to purchase on-site installation and testing, see price list for details.
We endeavour to address any inquiries quickly and professionally. Dfend is designed to allow most issues to be handled remotely through its highly secure remote administration server. In the unlikely event that a problem can not be corrected remotely or by providing phone direction to a customer (damaged hardware or corrupt system), DCoded is committed to provide replacement parts or full system in the quickest possible time.
Distribution
DCoded limited is a GB registered company operating from Edinburgh, Scotland. It is only able to offer onsite installation in scotland but can deliver and remotely support installed systems worldwide.
DCoded is pleased to announce that Dfend is now being actively distributed in France by JCD-Communic@tion. JCD are able to provide installation support in a large part of the french territory and also work closely with DCoded in providing customer feedback that drives further development.
